Caledonian Geotech, in support of its aim to provide a "one-stop shop", owns a considerable amount of data gathering and processing equipment. This can be housed on the different platforms which have been specifically designed and developed for the purpose, to enable data to be collected accurately and cost effectively, both on land and in the marine environment.
RS "Discovery Rose" is a 44 tonne Baltic Ice Class vessel, registered in Hull, having been converted for our needs in 1992. Her shallow draught, specifically designed commodious wheelhouse, and on-board accommodation facilities, make her the ideal vessel for inshore surveys (out to 20 km), where a loadlined vessel is required.
"Surveyor II" is a 9 metre long, purpose built, amphibious vessel. Ideal for inshore survey work and as a diver support vessel - this vessel can work where few others can.
IMOR: The IMOR is a 30m Dynamic Positioned catamaran capable of near shore/offshore survey and Observation ROV operations, including MBES, SSS, SBP, Maggie and geotechnical investigations.
The IMOR is built as a multi-role shallow water survey and ROV support twin hulls vessel (dedicated for area almost from beach to 200 Nm offshore). She is configured and capable of performing a range of tasks, such as: hydrographic and geophysical operations, bottom and pipeline inspection, others. The vessel is easily re-configured accordingly to requirements and adaptable solution to clients varying demands in all subsea surveys. The IMOR offers extremely cost efficient and flexible solution for many subsea tasks, and also offers the highest standards of safety and technologically advanced systems. The small size, small draught, high relative power and great flexibility of possible applications makes her ideal for work on shallow waters and for preliminary work during offshore projects starting on shore.
The vessel’s features include:
- 120 kN/10m jig crane and 30 kN A-frame (aft), cable winch 40 kN,
- special well (moon pool) with T shape guide rail to fit variable echosounder transducers (SBES, MBES), USBL, small ROV,
- 20’ container stand on upper deck (extra laboratory / accommodation / ROV),
- DP – System class 1,
- Wet laboratory, Computer laboratory – 40 m2
- 80 m2 aft working deck with space to fit 2-3 standard 10 and 20 feet containers with equipment.
The crew of the vessel and the hydrographic staff have large experience of many national and international survey campaigns. We offer professional analysis and assessment of the measured data sets; we can also carry out different feasibility studies and pre-investment projects (concerning underwater cables, pipelines, wind farms, oil rigs, piers).
CG's professional, multi-disciplinary team offers a comprehensive package of geo-scientific services which embrace:
- Onshore and offshore geotechnical investigations
- Environmental, oceanographic and engineering surveys
- Project design
